Temple and Courtyard Project - Gomde Lindholme Hall - The centre for Tibetan Buddhism in the UK

Temple and Courtyard Project

It is Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche´s (our spiritual director) aspiration that Gomde Lindholme Hall grows to support a significant community. His vision is to see a large new temple built on the site and to provide a new courtyard development. All of this will enable Gomde Lindholme to host large seminars and teachings, to accommodate group year-round retreats and to offer support for individual retreats.

Throughout 2016 we have been busy trying to bring this vision to reality. Thanks to generous donation of seed money, David Benjamin´s (one of our trustees) unwavering project management and volunteer architect Peter Oudshoorn wonderful work, major development planning permission was completed and submitted to the Council. On 26 July the Planning Committee at Doncaster Council granted planning permission for the full development. This includes all the courtyard development and outline planning permission for the new temple.

In this section of the website, you can read about the phases of the Courtyard and Project and we ask for your support and good wishes to bring this vision into reality! The projected cost of Phase 1 is £125,000. The consruction funds available are £49,000, which includes a donation from Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche.
