Lama Tenzin Sangpo is one of the most knowledgeable and respected lamas at our monastery in Boudhanath Nepal. We are very grateful that Lama Tenzin will, for the third year, led a week-long retreat here at Gomde UK. Lama Tenzin himself suggested that for 2018 a Trinley Nyingpo retreat would be the ideal practise and so we have followed his advice!
This is a wonderful opportunity to practise and study this central sadhana practice of our tradition. We will follow the traditional 4 session format for the retreat. Lama Tenzin, thoroughly versed in Buddhist philosophical systems and a highly skilled meditation practitioner, will provide authentic step-by-step guidance on the practise and ritual and also be available to answer questions.

Tukdrub Trinley Nyingpo Retreat- Accomplishing the Guru’s Wisdom Mind, Dispeller of All Obstacles

The Chokling Tersar, or Chokling New Treasures Lineage, is the collected treasure revelations of the great treasure revealer Orgyen Chokgyur Lingpa (1829-1870), one of the greatest visionary masters in Tibetan history. These teachings and practises are a direct transmission from the great Lotus-born Master, Guru Padmasambhava, and are specifically meant to be transmitted and practised during this day and age and are now widely practised by both the Kagyu and Nyingma schools of Tibetan Buddhism.

The Tukdrub Trinley Nyingpo pertains to one of the main cycles of teachings in the Chokling Tersar known as Lamé Tukdrub Barché Künsel (Accomplishing the Guru’s Wisdom Mind, Dispeller of All Obstacles). The Trinley Nyingpo is the condensed sādhana from this cycle. The chief figure in the practice is Guru Rinpoche, with the sambhogakāya Avalokiteśvara and the dharmakāya Amitābha, surrounded by his twelve emanations. The Trinley Nyingpo is one of the most popular and widely-practiced sādhanas in the Chokling Tersar and is a practice that many people around the world have a strong connection with.

His Holiness Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche said about this treasure teaching:
The Barché Künsel is the heart essence of the accomplished master Padmasambhava, who perceives the three times in their entirety. It is the quintessence of one billion heart sādhanas of the Guru, the most unique terma buried in the land of Tibet, and it is the first among the Four Cycles of Guru Sadhana. This Accomplishing the Guru’s Wisdom Mind, Dispeller of All Obstacles contains in completeness all the profound key points of the view, meditation, and conduct of the Three Inner Yoga Tantras.
This pure and perfect teaching, which effortlessly bestows, in accordance with one’s wishes, the all-encompassing supreme and common siddhis, temporarily and ultimately, was an unprecedented diffusion of the gemstones of the profound meaning, like opening up the treasury of the universal monarch.”

Lama Tenzin Sangpo
Lama Tenzin Sangpo was born in the Tingri region of Tibet in 1967. Following his escape from Tibet in 1976, he received ordination and a traditional monastic education at Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling, Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche’s the monastery, in Boudhanath, Nepal. He successfully completed a traditional three-year retreat and served for many years as the recitation master of the monastery’s extensive Buddhist ritual practices.
