We are delighted to announce that Chokling Rinpoche will return to Gomde, Lindholme Hall in 2013.
The teaching programme will be based upon one of the Terma treasures discovered by Chokyur Lingpa. Rinpoche will give the empowerment and teachings for Vajra Kilaya.
Vajrakilaya of the Secret Essence
Vajrakilaya is a wrathful heruka famed as the most powerful deity for dispelling obstacles and is the wrathful transformation of the deity Vajrasattva. One of the eight Kagyé (Eight Great Sadhana Teachings) deities, he is an embodiment of the buddhas’ enlightened activity, destroying the forces hostile to compassion and purifying the spiritual pollution so prevalent in this age.
The particular Vajrakilaya practice Kyabjé Tsikey Chokling Rinpoche will be bestowing comes from one of the profound treasures of the great treasure revealer Chokgyur Lingpa known as the Triple Cycle of the Secret Essence (Sangtik Korsum), which contains a complete set of practices for Vajrakilaya, Vajrasattva, and Yangdak Heruka; the three principal yidams of Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche, his close disciples and all their emanations practice at least one of these three deities as their personal yidam practice in every lifetime. Hence, whoever receives one of these empowerments will at the very least be blessed with the good karma to meet with Guru Rinpoche and his teachings in every lifetime until reaching enlightenment.
Chogkyur Lindpa (1829-1870) , one of the greatest masters and treasure revealers in Tibetan history. His teachings are now widely practiced by both the Nyingma and Kagyu schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
Chokling Rinpoche is said to be an emanation of the Great Treasure Revealer himself and we have deep appreciation for his forthcoming visit.
