Weekly Meditation and Study Group

Meditation and Study Group

The meditation  and study group meets at Gomde, Lindholme Hall every Tuesday 7- 9pm. Lead by resident Lamas or senior practitioners.

The first hour is spent in ´study´ and discussion. We have just started a new text entitled 100 Verses of Advice by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche. This is a Mahayana text which gives advice regarding the development of impartial compassion.  The second part of the evening is for  guided meditation. The group has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. It is not necessary to attend every week. Tea and biscuits on arrival.

Payment by donation – suggested donation £2-£4.

Dates for your Diary

In September and October Lama Oser will be in residence and has kindly agreed to lead the study/meditation group. The group will focus on the meditation practice of Buddha Shakyamuni the historical Buddha. In addition we will study a text by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche which fully explains all aspects of this meditation entitled ´The Sage Who Dispels Mind’s Anguish´ by Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche.   Based on Treasury of Blessings, the Buddha Shakyamuni ritual by Mipham Rinpoche, this text gives a detailed and extremely clear explanation of both shamata and vipashyana medittaion. Adorned with many quotes from Buddha and great masters of the past, it is a beautiful practice guide for both beginners and more experienced students alike.
