Gomde Lindholme Hall - Introduction
In July 2009, during the summer seminar at Gomde Denmark, the UK sangha asked Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche whether they should have a centre in England. Rinpoche was delighted by the request and told us, “Now is the time to search and have a centre in England.” Following Rinpoche’s detailed guidance, the search began. With incredible speed and ease, Lindholme Hall estate, a remote, secluded place with 120 acres, a large house and many outbuildings was found. The place was discovered to be even more wonderful as it is situated within the centre of a 3,500 acre nature reserve. Details of the place were sent to Rinpoche and he was overjoyed; he
described the place as “perfect”, “a
jewel” and told us “we will not find a place superior to
this.” Those searching felt that the discovery was not
theirs, rather they had simply found the place Rinpoche knew was there all
along.
The land has been purchased by the registered Charitable Trust of Rangjung Yeshe UK under the spiritual direction of Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche. The contract to purchase was exchanged on the 13th October 2009 – a Dakini day; this means a deposit has been paid and the purchase is now legally binding on both sides. With the help of some valiant volunteers, we moved in on 6th November, unpacked (a little) reshuffled (a lot) and received our first guest on 9th November, the 10,000,000 day of La Bab Duchen. Lama Tenzin Sangpo, the resident Lama in Gomde GA, arrived on 11th and our first practice week end commenced on 13th!! It was delightful to have many of the UK sangha gather together for the first time at Gomde UK. There was a great sense of rejoicing and fullness that permeated the whole week end. Lama Tenzin skilfully guided, taught us and, as directed by Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche, over the days he was here Lama Tenzin completed practices to benefit and bless the land. Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche will visit Lindholme Hall from 10th to 13th January 2010 to bless the land. Both Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche and
Phakchok Rinpoche have agreed to teach seminars at Lindholme Hall in
2010. “We want to include everyone, in whatever way they want, to be part of this international centre for study and meditation.” From the beginning we wish to make the Gomde in England a place of refuge, practice and study; from the beginning, there will be practitioner-caretakers living at the centre offering daily practice and weekend group practice retreats and work retreats. Supported retreats will be available by arrangement. Our first weekend retreat, lead by Lama Tenzin, will take place on 13th- 15th November. We hope that many of you will make a connection during this auspicious
beginning stage. Lindholme Hall needs your help to become a living Dharma
centre — OUR Dharma centre, for all of us. As Rinpoche has said, please
become connected in whatever way you can. Make a donation, small or large, to be added to existing donations to buy the estate. Or make a regular payment to help with Lindholme Hall estate’s running costs. Donations can be made via this website here: Payments can be made directly into our bank account (details at the
bottom of this page), or cheques can be sent to: Anyone wishing to discuss donations, charitable giving and offers of
help, please contact: We look forward to visits from many of you in the coming year! May the purchase of Lindholme Hall estate bring great
benefit to all beings, may it be a true place of refuge and
accomplishment, may Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche’s aspirations for the teachings
and beings be completely fulfilled and may all true teachers live
long! Trustees Rangjung Yeshe UK --------- Bank Details for Lindholme Hall: Bank name: HSBC
