Juniper Hill Newsletter Spring 2010 Thank you everyone and good news! With great kindness, Chökyi Nyima Rinpoche has said he will visit the little Gomde Hermitage in Scotland, from 20 to 24 September this year. It is such a blessing and a support to have the land consecrated by Rinpoche and to receive his guidance and teachings on this special occasion. The blessings just continue to flow, as Phakchok Rinpoche will also visit from 8 to 11 November 2010. Making it happen takes lots of effort and everyone’s help. With that in mind, the preparations started while the deepest snow of winter still lay on the ground and the ice sparkled on the bare tree branches. Marquee up, call the digger for the foundations. Puzzle over lots of wooden bits, large and small that needed to be made into Rinpoches retreat cabin, a small woodland kitchen and bathroom, all clustered around the little wooden meditation hall. And with the help and kindness of many, the generosity the Patrons and a sponsor for Rinpoche’s cabin, somehow or other it happened. The pieces came together and the huts are up. We buried a Sacred Treasure Vase below Rinpoche’s cabin and hope and pray that this activity may benefit all beings, as many as the infinite sky is vast.
Still lots to be done, help is needed in all manor of ways, we are broke and kaput but it is a good start. Now we need to finish the paths and decking, furnish the cabins and prepare for Rinpoches visit. It would be nice to plant junipers on the little hill in front of Rinpoche’s cabin, for auspiciousness and Sang offerings. If you would like to support this in any way, gift anything large or small, or especially if you would like to help with preparing for Rinpoches visit, please let us know at hermitage@gomde.org.uk
