Projects

In our first year work focused on preparing Gomde, Lindholme Hall for our first full seminar with Chokyi Nyima Rinpoche. A barn was transformed into our meditation hall, a seminar kitchen created from a store room, a water filtration system was fitted for our well and camping showers and toilets built.

Following Rinpoche´s visit in September 2010 we completed a number of special projects

Design and constructing the first retreat hut.
Building of the middle section of the shrine

In the coming months we hope to create in the house:

A retreat room with ensuite facilities which can also act as a Lama room
Move the office to the Silver Birch room giving the office a good view of the courtyard with better security of the building. We will also incorporate a linen store behind the office.
Upgrade the attic rooms in the Hall and add ensuite facilities

In addition, in the medium term we would hope it would be possible to

Redesign and refurbish Rinpoche´s suite of rooms in the house. Rinpoche is particularly concerned that we have facilities to host high Lamas from different traditions
Render and paint the outside walls of the meditation Hall
Repair the coach house to make a well insulated structure with single rooms and residential facilities to accommodate a year round monastic and lay community to live here with a resident lama.
Upgrade the energy supplies in the house to make us more energy efficient and ´green´. Currently we plan to include in this the installation of a ground source heat pump, pholtovotaic panels (solar electrical generation), solar hot water panels and wood burning stoves using sustainable wood from the land. We would like to add the photovoltaic system as soon as possible, as government grants are available with guaranteed income from electrical generation; we are seeking a private loan to finance this particular project; in short the system would be self funding.
Build a large dining hall with attached commercial kitchen.
Build additional retreat huts

To become a reality all these ideas require planning, financing, skill and hard work!
